After graduating from high school in Deer Lodge, Montana, Nic attended Helena Vo-Tech Automotive Training School and graduated in 1988 with a perfect 4.0 grade average. While in school, Nic worked as a mechanic at a service station learning many practical lessons not taught in school. After graduating, Nic worked at a local auto parts store in Helena and set up a high performance program within the store, and ultimately set sales records every month.
After marrying Pam in 1990, Nic decided to get more serious about his musical career and joined a touring country band based in Staunton Virginia, opening for Charlie Daniels, Travit Tritt and others. It was great for a little while, but not the environment for a newly married guy! In 1992, Pam and Nic moved to Boise to get a fresh start and Nic became a technician for a local Ford dealership. Nic was a service tech for 8 years earning a Ford Master Service Technician status within 4 years, and earning second place for 'fix-it-right the first time' nationally with Ford Motor company in 1997. Nic attended Fords SVT school in 1992 to prepare for the soon to be released SVT vehicles including the Mustang Cobra, F-150 Lightning, and related parts. In his spare time, he started working on Mustangs at home, installing high performance parts and restoring older cars.
In 2000, Nic left the shop and moved into the parts department. He was responsible for supplying the service techs with the necessary parts, and earned his Ford Parts Master Counterman status in 2006. He initiated an aftermarket high performance parts program within the dealership and built half a dozen high performance cars and trucks sold on the showroom floor. While in parts, Nic accumulated a modest but steady customer base at home, building street Mustangs as well as drag cars.
Along with working at Performance Solutions, Nic is a freelance photographer and tech writer for magazines. He has over a dozen articles featured in Mustang Enthusiast magazine, and one article in Hot Rod magazine. He continues to hone his skills at writing and Performance Solutions is giving him the opportunity to showcase their projects as well as enabling him to submit articles.
Nic has a son, Colton, and a daughter, Emma. His kids, along with his wife, put up with his infatuation with cars and Mustangs, as well as his musical hobbies. When Nic has time, he races his 1982 Mustang GT that he built from a totaled car some years ago.
